A sand and water festival!
Created in 2001, the Gatineau Wonders of Sand festival represents the family event by excellence showcasing the Beauchamp Lake, the City of Gatineau, the Outaouais and the great National Capital region. A gathering of over 15,000 participants annually. Over time, Wonders of Sand has become THE unmissable event for sand sculptures and more.
For 20 years, it has been an opportunity to discover and experience the technical and creative aspects of sand sculpting, made by professionals at the top of this spectacular ephemeral art, but also by beginners who wish to learn by direct experimentation.
In 2013, Wonders of Sand has diversified its activities and attractions. In addition to artistic, fun, and sandy activities, a new water component built on the water and “wet ” activities has emerged. At the heart of this new component, The AQUAZONE , one of the main attraction of the festival, with its adventure park containing twenty inflatables on water, concrete canoes and water raft races and the Big Splash, our huge water guns battle, which brings together hundreds of people each year.
